Description
This dark brown late 1950s or early 1960s fedora hat by Dobbs has a narrow brim and a wide black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Labeled a men’s size 7 1/8, the hat has a pinched or indented crown with a center crease. The brim is finished with an overwelt (turned over and sewn) edge. This classic mid-century fedora hat features a stitched-in leather sweatband inside, with a plastic insert protecting the top of the white satin lining. The unusual color of the hat was a bit hard to capture: it is very dark brown, but with a cool undertone—halfway between charcoal gray and brown, I’d say. In very good condition, the hat shows a touch of wear to the front edge of the leather sweatband where it meets the felt brim. This true vintage fedora looks great, with no other issues to note! Its smaller size makes this a good option for a woman as well.
