Description
Perfect for spring layering, this white on cream, floral beaded 1950s-60s cardigan sweater is made of a soft lambswool and angora blend—lightweight enough for the warming days ahead! The lavish, lily-patterned floral beadwork is done with pearly white and clear glass seed beads, and slightly larger, ivory pearl glass beads. Pearl buttons fasten the cardigan down the front. The sweater has ribbed knit trim finishing the crew neckline, bracelet-length sleeve cuffs, and high-hip-length hem. The body of the sweater is lined with lightweight cream rayon taffeta; the sleeves are unlined. This true vintage, late 1950s or early 1960s cardigan has an overall slightly boxy shape, intended to fit a bit loosely through the waist. It is in very good condition, freshly dry-cleaned, with a small yellowed mark on the upper edge of the lining fabric at the back of the neck (not seen when the sweater is worn). It is labeled a vintage size 38, and should fit approximately a modern medium (see measurements). The intricate beadwork is all intact, and lovely!
