Description
This deadstock 1940s tap pant is made of palest icy pink rayon, with pretty lace and appliques trim! The wide leg openings are adorned with darker pink lace, only in front, along with dainty leaf and flower bud appliques. The tap pant or high-waited brief fastens at the side opening with 3 tiny shell buttons. It has a diamond-shaped gusset that hangs down a bit below the hem, when laid flat. The pale pink, plain weave rayon fabric is lightweight and semi-sheer; as you can see, my mannequin’s torso seam shows right through it. Unworn when found, the tap pant has been carefully hand-laundered for freshness. It is in very good condition, with one light mark from its long storage, at the left front hip (see close-up photo). I have included a second photo of this small mark with my hand behind it. It is definitely less noticeable this way than it is as worn by my bright-white mannequin.
