Description
This Folk Art or Alpine style circa 1930s purse or shoulder bag features red and black wool felt, in a stylized floral appliqué design. The front zipped pouch compartment and the bag’s hem are both finished with black zigzag felt fringe, and the cute zipper pull is also decorated with a double layered tassel of red and black fringe. The narrow shoulder strap is constructed of a double layer of felt in both colors, attached to the bag with 2 large brass-colored metal loops. The back side of the bag is plain red felt. Based on its relatively small shape, this bag may have originally been used by a child, but its zipper compartment is just barely tall enough to fit a new iphone—I tried it! 1930s Folk Art meets festival style: this little bag can carry just the essentials, but not a lot more. The intricate appliqué design on the front of the bag is quite lovely! In very good condition, the only issue to note with this cute little purse is some pitting/tarnishing to the metal of the loops attaching the strap.
