Description
This early 1970s nightgown by Gossard for their Artemis line is a bold and lovely piece of vintage lingerie that might be too pretty to wear only at home! The sheer, lightweight nylon fabric has a crepe-like texture, with no stretch. The large-scale, abstract floral design in periwinkle blue, fuchsia pink, and red has a flowing, Art Nouveau-inspired feel. The nightgown bodice has small, diamond-shaped cups with a diamond-shaped center panel between them. Below the underbust seams, the gown is full and flared to the hem, making the bust its smallest, most fitted area (see measurements). The narrow straps continue around the sides and low, scooped back neckline as piping trim. The sheer fabric is unlined except at the bust cups, where it is backed with a 2nd layer of (also sheer) pale blue nylon. This dreamy 70s nightgown by Gossard is in excellent condition, with no issues to note.
