Description

Originally intended as a dressing gown, I think that this emerald green satin Asian-style robe would work equally well as an evening jacket or fancy coat! The dressing gown has a high, mandarin collar, ¾-length straight sleeves, and an overall boxy fit, falling to just below the knee. 5 intricate frog closures fasten it in front. The rayon satin brocade fabric is a jewel-toned green, with a woven pattern of larger Asian-style floral circles and lattice designs, combined with tiny leaves, flowers, and what look like teapots! Squiggles of quilted topstitching accent the front bodice and collar, the applied sleeve cuffs, and the trim around the openings of the 2 hip pockets. The robe or jacket has deep side slits at the hem. It is fully lined in spring green, lightweight rayon satin. This lining has several areas with pale orange marks (water-spotting from storage?) which were not completely removed when I had it dry-cleaned. In very good condition, the dressing gown’s only other issue to note is a bit of fraying to the edges of several of the frog closures, from normal use. The gorgeous green color would make this 1960s satin robe a fun outerwear piece for a holiday party, but it will be just as lovely worn as elegant at-home loungewear.
