Description
This adorable early 1970s mini-skirt suit is serving “Clueless” meets Biba! The junior- or youthful-style skirt suit combines a hip-length jacket with a pleated micro mini skirt, both in a lightweight, pine green and white, cotton-blend chambray fabric that will be perfect for spring and summer wear. The jacket has unpadded, fitted shoulders, bracelet length sleeves, notched lapels, and 2 patch pockets in front. It closes with pearly-white lucite buttons, to match smaller decorative buttons trimming each sleeve cuff. The jacket is slightly shaped with bust darts and curved seaming in back. It flares a little bit from the waist to its hip-length hem, with a deep slit at center back. The jacket is intended to have a slightly loose fit over the skirt at the hips.
The A-line miniskirt has a fitted waistband with belt loops and inverted box pleats from hips to hem, below rows of green topstitching from waist to hips. The skirt closes in back with a plastic zipper and a metal hook at the waistband. The green patent vinyl belt with silver metal buckle can be worn either at the skirt waist, or over the jacket (as shown), if you prefer.
Both pieces of the suit are unlined, to keep you cooler in warmer weather. In very good condition, freshly laundered, this sassy little early 70s mini-skirt suit has 1 very faint, hard-to-notice spot on the right pocket (see close-up photo). Of course, you can also pair the jacket and pleated mini skirt with other pieces in your wardrobe—great for added options while traveling!
