Description

This terrific tiki print late 1960s or early 70s men’s Aloha shirt by Jantzen is labeled a vintage size XL. The shirt features chestnut brown, burgundy, red, and gold block-print-style patterns which include ki’i figures, sea turtles, and leaves, with an off-white background. The cotton sateen fabric is very smooth to the touch, and medium weight. The classic Hawaiian shirt has a pointed collar, short sleeves, a boxy fit, slits at each side of the hem, and a single patch pocket. It buttons down the front with dark red plastic buttons. Note: the shirt does not have a top button or button and loop closure, and is meant to be worn open at the neck, as shown. In very good condition, the shirt does show some faintly yellowed marks vertically, along what might have been fold lines from its long storage. These are more visible when the shirt is inside out, and are pretty well hidden by the busy pattern when the shirt is right-side-out. See my photos; I have tried to show this issue as well as possible. The top of each shoulder is the most noticeable bit. This larger-size vintage Hawaiian shirt is quite wearable, study, and ready for an outing to your favorite tiki bar!
