Description

These 1940s or very early 1950s side-zip ladies’ ski pants are a dark, saturated navy blue, medium-weight wool, perfect for winter sports wear! The hourglass-fit ski pant has a fitted waist, shaped by darts in back, above full hips and gently tapering legs that stop at about ankle-length on my tall mannequin. The pant has two pockets with buttoned flaps at the front hips. The leg hems are finished with binding tape, so the pant can be worn with regular shoes or boots (no stirrups). The ski pant closes at the side seam with a heavyweight brass Talon zipper. The inside of the high waistband and the pockets only are lined with black polished cotton; the pant is otherwise unlined. I believe that the plain weave fabric is a melton wool—a quite warm and hard-wearing textile—perfect for sportswear! This true vintage 1940s or early 50s ski pant is in excellent condition, with no issues to note. The pant has been freshly dry-cleaned, ready to wear on the slopes (or on the town) this winter!
