Description
This unique novelty print cotton full apron from the late 1940s or early 1950s has a design I have not encountered before: 2 teardrop-shaped panels overlap in front and are tied closed with an attached sash. Each end of the sash is sewn down next to the single patch pocket on the right panel. The edges of the panels and the pocket are trimmed with skinny white rickrack. The lipstick red cotton is printed with a pattern of medieval-style letters in black and white. The panels are gathered above the bust in front, and are otherwise flat. The bib apron has a wide halter neck strap in back, and no fastenings other than the waist tie. In very good condition, this cute 1940s-50s novelty print apron has a single small hole (1/2-inch, see photo) just under the patch pocket, on the right front panel.
Size: flexible sizing with waist tie, to fit approx. XS-M.
At 34B with a 28-inch waist, the apron, fit me well with a bit of room to spare at bust and waist.
- Panel length: 28 inches from shoulder to hem.
- Panel width: 13 inches at bust and 15.5 inches at widest point, just above hem.
- Waist: 29 inches max for best fit.
