Description
This marvelously mod 1960s mini cocktail dress features a sheer, loose and floaty overlayer and a fitted sheath underdress, both in a groovy oval black-on-white dots print. The sleeveless, sccopneck underdress is shaped to the body with vertical darts from bust to hip, and diagonal bust darts. It is made of smooth cotton sateen or polished cotton, which feels lovely! The lightweight and sheer over-layer is a cotton blend, probably with polyester. This over-layer drapes from the wide straps to the hem in back. The U-shaped opening in front is designed to show off the more fitted underdress. The over-layer has a slight overlap in back, fastened at the top with a tiny snap and hook, to hide the nylon zipper in the under layer. The sheath-style under dress is lined with black acetate taffeta. In very good condition, this true vintage, mid-1960s dress has a small, faintly yellowed mark at the very edge of the over-layer at the mid-left side, and a tiny mark just behind the right side seam (see close-up photos). The visual impact of the fabulous op art dots print should minimize the likelihood that anyone will notice these 2 minor flaws.
