Description
This vibrant peach satin full slip from the late 1930s or early 1940s features braided and threadwork trim around its top edges—so lovely! Small tucks or darts in front add fullness to the bust. Rectangular underbust panels that shape the ribcage, above a slightly high waist seam. Below the high waist seam, the skirt section flares gently to the knee-length hem. The slip’s skinny shoulder straps are adjustable with metal slides. Made of shin, lightweight satin, the fabric is a blend of acetate and rayon. Labeled a vintage size 36, I’d estimate the slip will fit best for a modern extra small or small, with approximately a size 32B to C or 34A to B bust—please see the measurements below for more details about fit. My last photo shows the slip unclipped from the mannequin, to give a better idea of actual size. In very good condition, the slip has a few faint marks near the right front hem, 1 tiny hole near the left front high waist seam, and the tiniest, pinhole-sized dark mark on the left front bust—too small to show up in even my close-up photos. This 1930s-40s peach satin slip will be great under dresses from the era, but is pretty enough to wear on its own too!
