Description
This colorful color-blocked pink and blue cotton 1980s safari style travel jacket was made in Nepal, and is fully reversible! Each side of the jacket has 4 patch pockets. The pink and purple side has a skinny tie belt to cinch the waist, which is missing from the aqua and blue side. It could be easily replaced with another skinny tie or belt, if needed. The jacket has no other fastenings. It is designed to have a somewhat boxy fit, its straight hem falling to about the lower hip. I love the unique designs of the lower pockets, the fun appliqué patterns on the upper pockets, and the bright mix of colors! The long sleeves can be either rolled up or gathered/cinched using the attached straps and buttons. Even more unusual is the way that this ideal travel jacket can be turned inside-out into its own carrying case AND function as an extra tote bag—see last photo. What a great idea! In very good condition, the jacket has minor flaws: staining at the edges of the sleeve cuffs, some minor dye bleeding from laundering, and a small spot on the right sleeve (see photos). The 80s safari-style jacket has many travel stories to tell, no doubt! It was worn and loved, but is still quite sturdy and ready for more adventures. I do recommend washing it alone in cold water, in future, to avoid any potential issues with dye bleeding from the 100 percent cotton fabric.
