Description

This deadstock vintage early 1960s coat is the perfect choice for early spring, with its pistachio green shade. For those of us in colder climates, early spring means still bundling up, but this nubby bouclé wool coat will brighten up your winter coat wardrobe. It reminds me of an Easter parade! The coat features a small collar with notched lapels, 2 welted, slit hip pockets, and 3 large plastic buttons fastening it down the front. The straight sleeves are bracelet-length, below the soft, unpadded shoulders. Vertical darts gently shape the front and back shoulders and the upper bust. The front of the coat also has seams from just below the bust to the hem, which shape the waist slightly, as well as adding visual interest. Overall, the coat has a tubular silhouette, intended for a moderately loose, boxy fit. It is most fitted at the shoulders and bust. I have tried to give the appropriate measurements, both flat and for wear over clothing, which you can compare to a coat that fits you well. The medium-weight, pastel green wool is fully lined with gold acetate taffeta and has 1 extra button sewn inside. This never worn, true vintage 1960s women’s coat is in excellent to mint condition.
