Description

This bright red late 1960s-70s bowling shirt by Hilton originally belonged to Al, as evidenced by his name chain-stitched onto the chest. Al worked at “Ole’s Clothes Shop”, which had an absolutely fabulous walking shirt logo! The logo and shop name are flocked in black onto the back of the shirt. Seams and details of the shirt are outlined in black topstitching, to match the lettering. Black plastic buttons fasten the shirt in front. The tomato red polyester and cotton blend fabric is lightweight and easy care. I would, however, recommend hand-washing or at least laundering the shirt inside-out (no dryer!) to preserve the velvety flocked design. The bowling shirt has classic vintage styling, including roomy short sleeves, side slits at the hem, a front and back shoulder yoke, a pointed collar, and 2 patch pockets. The pleats at the back of the shirt allow greater freedom of movement--for bowling, of course! The pleats are stitched down from about 6 inches above the hem. This true vintage, black and red bowling shirt from the late 1960s or early 70s is in excellent condition, with no flaws to note.
