Description

This bright red corduroy 1950s sport shirt by McGregor features 2 unusual details: the use of the cotton corduroy fabric with the ribs turned horizontally rather than vertically, and the diagonal shape of the 2 patch pockets. The shirt has a pointed collar, white shell buttons fastening into horizontal buttonholes, a straight hem, and a longer-than-usual total length. The back shoulder yoke is lined with plain-weave lightweight fabric, but the shirt is otherwise unlined. There are 2 small pleats below this back yoke, adding a little bit of fullness to the shoulder area.

The shirt has a relatively narrow silhouette, overall. Labeled a vintage size medium, I estimate it will fit a modern men’s S—see measurements below, for more details about fit. This lipstick red corduroy 1950s loop collar men’s sport shirt is in very good, near excellent condition. It is totally study and wearable, but has a bit of fraying to the lower edge of the left pocket (see close-up photo).
