This circa 1950s dragonfly pin or brooch is made of “japanned” matte black metal set with clear and garnet-red rhinestones. This 1950s novelty insect pin is lightweight for its size, and in very good condition: there is a bit of visible glue here and there, where the stones are set into the metal, and one small marquise-shaped stone appears to be a replacement. The clear rhinestones look quite bright and shiny against the black-enameled setting—just like a real dragonfly!
