Description

A dramatic1960s evening coat in fully-reversible black and red silk satin, this clutch-coat style will be the perfect mid-weight layer for wearing over your favorite cocktail dress or other fancy attire! The shape of the coat flares out from shoulders to hem, intended for a swingy, loose fit. The elbow-length sleeves are also flared, with diamond-panel inserts under the arms for greater ease of movement. The collarless neckline is high on the sides and in back, like an open-front funnel neck. Each side of the coat has a single slit pocket: on the right side seam for the black and the left side seam for the red. The coat has no fastenings.

In very good condition, this elegantly simple 1960s silk evening coat has a few minor issues to note: a tiny spot on one sleeve (red side) and a very faint mark at the center back seam (red side). Also, there is very slight wear to the red side of the fabric where the 2 colors of silk meet at the back of the neck (see close-up photo). It has been freshly dry-cleaned, and appears sturdy wearable.

Size: will fit quite loosely for modern size XS-S, over normal clothing. Possibly fine for a size M if worn over less clothing. The coat fits smallest at the shoulders, so a M with smaller shoulders should be OK.

Measurements taken with tiny overlap of 2 sides at center front.
