Description
This skirted 1950s playsuit, swimsuit, or romper has the sweetest roses floral print in pink and yellow on its off-white polished cotton fabric. The swimsuit-styled playsuit will probably be best for for non-water activities like lounging by the pool, since the 100-percent cotton fabric will not dry quickly, like a typical bathing suit. Visible through the side slits of the gathered, flirty over-skirt, the playsuit has a 2nd layer: gold cotton bloomers with elasticized leg openings. The upper part of the suit is lined in plain white cotton. The side seams have removable metal boning strips from the underarm to just above the natural waist. Curved seaming shapes the fitted bust cups and the waist into a classic 1950s hourglass shape. Narrow straps can be tied as you choose, to adjust the length slightly. (You could use just the front 2 ties to create a halter style, if you prefer.) The playsuit fastens with a heavyweight metal zipper in back, plus hook and eye closures. The bloomers have a plain white cotton lining in the gusset, which has yellowed, and could be easily removed. Each skinny strap has a small section which has been mended (see photo). This true vintage 1950s rose print romper or playsuit is in very good, perfectly wearable condition, with no other issues to note. The polished cotton fabric will be breathable and great for wearing in hot weather!

- Length at side seams: 19.5 inches from edge of underarm to hem of over-skirt.
