Description
A sapphire blue rayon velvet 1960s coat, this beauty will look lovely over your favorite LBD or evening gown—but will elevate a more casual look too! The plush velvet is more for glamor than for warmth, so bear this in mind when planning your outfit. The evening jacket or coat has straight, ¾-length sleeves, designed for wearing with long gloves, of course! Below the pointed collar, 2 really fun, square decorative buttons (made of satin loops with velvet centers) hide the coats actual closures: 2 large, velvet-covered snaps, plus a small button and thread loop at the top. The coat has a gently flared silhouette meant for a relatively loose fit—see measurement range. There are bust darts shaping the upper bodice, and the coat is most fitted at the chest, shoulders, and upper arms. It has 2 useful slit pockets at the hips and is fully lined in purple acetate satin. The lining slightly faded from age, and there are a few scattered “crush marks” in the plush pile of the velvet fabric form normal wear. This jewel-toned, electric blue velvet 1960s coat is in very good condition, freshly dry-cleaned and ready to wear.
It will fit approximately a modern size small to medium, depending on what your plan to wear under it. I was able to fit it on fairly easily (it was only a bit snug at the shoulders and upper arms) over several layers of clothing including a hoodie. I am a modern size 4-6 petite, for reference.
