Description
This batik-style French horns novelty print Hawaiian cheongsam dress or tunic in red cotton with gold screen-printing has very high side slits: dare to go bare, or add a fitted capri pant underneath for a very mid-century casual look! It would also be lovely worn over a fitted skirt, or even modern leggings. Along with its very high side slits, the cheongsam-style dress or tunic has other Asian-inspired elements, including a narrow, hourglass silhouette and a high mandarin collar closed with a single knot and loop in contrasting black cotton. The lightweight red cotton body of the tunic is unlined. The left side of the dress opens completely from the underarm to the side slit, closing with a metal zipper. The lightweight, plain weave cotton fabric is unlined. I love the unusual design of French horns in yellow, acid green, and metallic gold, against the tomato red background. In near excellent condition, the dress has the slightest bit of color fade to the inside back of the collar, and the edges of the underarms, from normal wear. It is freshly laundered, sturdy, and ready to wear. Made in Hawaii, this true vintage 1950s tunic-style cheongsam dress will be perfect for your next trip to the tiki bar, or Viva Las Vegas!
