Description
This mid-century vintage, red and pink rhinestones brooch and earrings set was made by Bowman Foster, and is stamped “Beau Jewels” on the backs of the clip-on earrings. Dating from the late 1950s or early 60s, the set includes a pin and matching earring, each with prong set ruby red and deep pink marquise-shaped glass stones, in gold metal settings with tiny leaf accents. The earrings are designed to curve upwards on the ear, when worn.
Beau Jewels costume jewelry was known for its riveted construction, which allows multiple elements to be joined onto a lightweight back plate without solder, keeping even medium- and large-sized pieces like this brooch relatively light for their size. You can see this in my back-view photos of the set.
This 1950s-60s rhinestone brooch and clip earrings set is in excellent condition, with no flaws to note. The saturated deep red and bright pink colors of the stones are best shown in the photos where I am holding the set pieces of the set in my hand.
