Description
A striking, hot pink wool 1960s skirt suit, this beauty features dyed-to-match fox fur trim on its ¾-length sleeves. The below-the hip-length jacket has a somewhat boxy fit, with a small collar, softly rounded shoulders, vertical darts to shape the bust, and a slight flare from waist to hem. 3 large, pearly pink plastic buttons and a single snap hidden underneath the collar fasten the jacket to about the natural waist, with no fastenings where it overlaps from waist to hem. A slit pocket is inserted at each side seam. The jacket is most fitted at the bust, shoulders and upper arms, as is typical of mid-1960s women’s suits. The above-the-knee-length pencil skirt has a fitted waistband with darts below to shape the hips. (The suit’s hips are a bit narrower than the bust—see measurements for details.) A single button and a nylon zipper fasten the skirt at the left side seam. Both pieces of the suit are fully lined with crimson rayon (or rayon-acetate blend) taffeta.
