This sheared brown Astrakhan or karakul lamb 1950s fur stole or evening wrap is the perfect topper for your favorite cocktail dress or gown. You could also pair this classic mid-century fur stole with jeans and a simple turtleneck, to elevate a more casual look. The shiny lamb fur, in variegated shade of brown, has had the longer, coarser outer hairs sheared away, to expose the softer undercoat. A hint of its original curly texture is still visible, creating a surface pattern like moiré fabric. The stole has a small, round collar, and three covered hooks and eyes to fasten it in front. The back and the side sections that drape over the arms are shorter, about elbow-length, while the center front extends below the waist, with a small pocket hidden in each long flap. The pelts are nicely pieced together, to make the most of their natural color variation. In good, sturdy and wearable, very condition, the fur wrap has a tiny worn spot at the edge of each front pocket (from normal use, no doubt), and some dye fading to the brown rayon satin lining. The fur itself is strong and shows no sign of dryness or splitting; the wear at each pocket edge does not affect its integrity. This unique 1950s capelet or fur stole will add authentic vintage style to any outfit!
