This dark brown 1930s-1940s carved Bakelite bangle looks very nearly black, even in my bright photography lighting. You can really only tell that the bangle isn’t a true black when I put it next to an actually black Bakelite bracelet. (I have included 2 side-by-side photos for comparison: one with this bangle next to a dark chocolate brown bangle, and another with it next to a true black Bakelite bracelet.) The chunky, 3/4 inch wide bracelet is carved with abstract tulip shapes or flower buds and curving lines. Wear alone, or add this versatile carved Bakelite bangle to your stack of favorites! Tested positive for Bakelite with Simichrome and by smell—ah, that “lovely” Bakelite scent! In very good, near excellent, condition with very slight scuffs to the shiny surface from normal wear, this true vintage Bakelite bracelet has no other flaws to note.
