This explorer-themed novelty print cotton 1960s blouse has a fabulous print of sailing ships, globes, telescopes, sextants and ships’ lanterns in coral red, against a “textured” bright blue and purple background of squares, outlined with ropes and knots. The boxy, short-sleeved top has bust darts, a small, pointed collar above the V neckline, and buttons below, to the hem. Small slits are inserted into the hem at each side seam. The sleeves have long hems inside, to be worn turned up and cuffed, if you prefer. The plain weave cotton fabric is a medium weight with a smooth hand (not quite as smooth and shiny as polished cotton). This vintage novelty print blouse is in very good condition with just the faintest hint of yellowing to the underarms, only visible against the white part of the rope design, and unlikely to be noticed when it is worn (see close-up photo, which has been lightened to show it better). The top is ready to “sail the seven seas” for adventure—or just head out to brunch--freshly laundered, with no odors or any other issues to note.
