Description
The ultimate in UK 80s rockabilly styles came from Lloyd Johnson’s British boutique label La Rocka! This black denim 80a miniskirt is a great example of how the label repackaged 1950s and 60s styles for the rockabilly crowd. Its super-high waist with corset lacing on the sides, hourglass fit, skull button trimmed belt loops, pointed front and back hip yoke, diagonal zip front pockets, and mid-thigh-length hem mix the authentic shape of a 1950s pencil skirt with harder-edged details that straddle the 1980s rockabilly and goth subcultures nicely. The skirt closes in back with a heavy brass-colored Talon zipper below the waistband button. This extra-high waistband sits just above the natural waist at tis top edge, and is somewhat too small for my mannequin, as seen in the back view photo. The black cotton drill fabric has a visible diagonal weave, and is mediumweight, with no stretch to it. The decorative corset laced side are fixed, as in not adjustable. In very good, near excellent condition, the only issue to note with this tiny but fabulous La Rocka! 80s skirt is some loss to the black enamel used to fill the skull and crossbones design of the silver metal buttons.
