Description
Wear them together or mix with other pieces from your wardrobe! This mod 1960s cocktail mini dress and matching coat set in black and mocha stripes is made of alaskine, a shiny and crisp, fine quality mid-weight blend of silk and wool perfect for cooler weather events! The sleeveless shift dress hits well above the knee on my tall mannequin, a true minidress. It features a round neckline, subtle A-line shape with princess seaming from bust to hem, and decorative pocket flaps above the 2 vertical slit pockets at the hips. The dress closes in back with a metal zipper and is fully lined in black acetate taffeta. The matching coat is just a touch longer than the dress. It fastens with covered buttons below a rounded collar, and has 4 decorative pocket flaps but just 2 slit pockets at the hips. The boxy-fit coat has ¾-length, straight sleeves and a half belt in back with decorative buttons (it is not removable). Below the half-belt, the coat has 2 small pleats in back, from about mid-thigh to hem. It is fully lined in black taffeta, like the dress. This fabulous mid-1960s mini-dress and matching coat set is in very good condition. The coat is in excellent condition, with no issues to note. The dress has several faint, lightish marks along the left front hem, which should be hard to notice due to the shiny texture of the fabric (see photos). Both pieces have been freshly dry-cleaned and look great! The visually striking combination of horizontal and vertical striping is like a master class in pattern-mixing!
