This neutral stripes 1960s mini skirt suit features horizontal bands of cream, black and khaki tweed-textured acetate (or acetate and rayon blend) fabric. A black bow trims the wide, Nehru-style collar, above black plastic buttons that fasten the jacket in front. The jacket has bust darts and a bit of shaping at the waist, but is designed to have a slightly loose fit, as shown. The matching mini skirt has a fitted, high waist and a bit of flare from hips to hem. The skirt fastens at the side seam with a nylon zipper and a button and tab at the waist. The lightweight, slub-textured suit fabric is lined with cream acetate taffeta, in both the jacket and the skirt. The suit is in very good condition, with some yellowing to the lining fabric, which is not seen from the outside when it is worn. Also, the three-quarter-length sleeves each have a small mark at the back of the elbow (see close-up photos). This youthful 1960s mini skirt suit probably dates from the middle to the end of the decade. Of course, you can also wear each piece of this cute skirt suit separately!
