This navy leather 1960s handbag by Koret has an unusual textured surface, and an adjustable-length top handle or strap. The crosshatched texture of the shiny, navy blue leather can be seen when viewed close up, but from a distance it gives the bag’s surface a matte look. The front flap is secured with a hinged clasp, which opens to reveal a navy leather and gold faille fabric lining. The bag’s interior has both zippered and slip pockets, plus a matching coin purse. It is stamped with Koret’s gold antelope logo. The top handle has metal slides that can be pulled out on each side to lengthen the purse from a handbag into a shoulder bag—a nice feature! In side view, you can see that the bag is wider at its base, narrowing to the top. The hardware on the strap is a bright gold-tone, but the metal of the clasp has lost its gold finish, and appears more silver-tone. The bag has some minor creasing at its lower corners and one small scuff at the right front corner (see close-up photos). The wear is consistent with normal use, and should not be very noticeable when the bag is carried. This mid to late, mod-style 1960s navy leather handbag by Koret is in very good condition, with no other issues to note. It is relatively large for a mid-century bag--easily able to hold modern necessities like a mobile phone, with room to spare!
