Description

This early 1960s novelty print cotton skirt features bright pink, yellow, orange, pale gray and gold designs on a dark gray background. The cute pattern includes images of owls, birdcages, umbrellas, trees, lampposts, houses and what looks like railroad tracks—quite an assortment! The skirt has a fitted waistband, with small pleats below to add fullness. It is semi-full in shape, definitely not a full circle skirt, shown here without a crinoline. The skirt fastens with a hook at the waist and snaps in the side opening. It was probably home sewn. The deep 3.25 inch hem could be let down if preferred; there does not appear to be any fading along the current hem edge. The lightweight, plain weave cotton fabric is unlined. This circa early 1960s, true vintage novelty print skirt is in excellent condition, with no issues to note.
