Description

This lemon yellow angora and lambswool blend early 1960s cardigan sweater features multicolored pastel silk floss embroidery down its front opening and around its neckline. The embroidered designs are of 3-dimensional, round flower buds, adorned with tiny leaves. The neckline, front openings, hem with small side lsits, and ¾-length sleeve cuffs are all finished with narrow bands of yellow and green satin trim, that I believe is acetate. The body of the sweater is lined with pale yellow, lightweight silk, while the sleeves are unlined. The cardigan fastens in front with metal hooks and eyes. It has a slightly boxy fit and ends just below the natural waist when worn.

In very good condition, sturdy and perfectly wearable condition, the sweater has been freshly dry-cleaned. It has 2 small spots on the inner left sleeve, and 1 very faint mark on the back right (see photos). There is also 1 small mark on the lining near the front opening, and several tiny marks on the lining at the back of the neck, near the size label. (None of these marks on the lining can be seen when the cardigan is worn.) This sweet vintage 1960s embroidered cardigan is made of a soft and fluffy, lightweight blend of angora and lambswool that should be comfortable for wearing on all but the hottest summer days.
