Description

These mulberry and purple heather, deadstock 1950s men’s wool, cotton, and acetate blend socks were never worn. The purple-heather, ribbed knit tops and flat-knit upper section of the socks is accented with darker purple heels and toes.  Burgundy red and pale pink geometric design “clocks” are knit into the inner and outer sides of each sock.  Although never worn and in excellent condition, these true vintage 1950s socks will be less stretchy than modern socks. Please note the measurements carefully.

The socks are labeled a size 12, but based on the measurements they will fit a bit smaller. Early 1950s and older cotton, wool, and early synthetic socks were sized directly by the length of the foot bed in inches (e.g., size 12 usually means a 12-inch max. foot length). See measurements, below.

Approx. size: 10 to 11.5 inch foot.

  • Length from toe to heel: 10 inches flat/unstretched, up to 11.5 inches max.
  • Length from ribbed cotton top to bottom of heel: 12 inches.
  • Label: Shrink Proof. 25% Virgin Wool, 15% Acetate, 60% Cotton
