This large rayon satin 1940s or early 1950s lingerie bag or travel case was designed for use inside your luggage, to carry your overnight essentials like a nightgown, and a change of underthings and stockings. Even a fresh blouse or lightweight dress would fit easily in its largest pocket. Perfect for an old-fashioned sleeper-car train trip, for example. It is an elegant way to protect your fancy lingerie while traveling by any method; plane, train, or automobile! The purple rayon satin fabric is embroidered all over with pink hand fans—too sweet!
The travel case is in very good condition. I suspect that the embroidered satin may have originally been a darker color, possibly navy blue, but it has age-faded to a lovely shade of royal purple. The pale pink interior is pristine. This true vintage, 1940s-50s lingerie bag appears unused, in excellent to mint condition aside from the slight age-fading.
