Description

This deadstock 1960s cropped-length ladies’ vest or sleeveless top combines burgundy, black and gray diamonds in a modified argyle pattern. The lightweight, jacquard double-knit cotton body of the vest is accented with bright red interlock knit trim at the V-neckline and front opening. It has decorative flaps on the front, but no actual pockets. 4 gold-tone metal buttons fasten the vest in front. The hem is straight and ends just above the natural waist at the back of the vest. It curves down on each side, ending up a bit longer at the center front.

The vest or top is in excellent condition aside from 2 small pinholes where the hangtag has been attached for many years (see close-up photo). The original paper hangtag is in the shape of a vintage washing machine—too cute!

The cotton double-knit fabric has no stretch to it. Labeled a vintage size medium, based on the measurements I think this true vintage 1960s vest or top will fit best for approximately a modern XS to S. My last photo shows the vest unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of its actual size.

Size: approx. modern XS-S, depending on your preferred fit.
