Description
This deadstock 1950s white dress in a dainty cutwork-stripe fabric has a semi-full skirt and an attached “sash” at the slightly dropped waist, below a fitted, cap-sleeve bodice. The sash panel is trimmed with a large bow at the center front. Small gathers below the dropped waist seam (at high hip) add fullness to the calf-length skirt. Diagonal and vertical darts shape the bust and waist. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. The lightweight white fabric is probably a blend of acetate and either rayon or cotton, still crisp with its original fabric finish. It is unlined and fairly sheer, so you will want a slip underneath this sweet 1950s day dress. In excellent to mint condition, unworn, the dress has no flaws to note. It would be lovely to wear for a summer event or party, or for a less formal bridal look!
