Description
This pin-up-style, true vintage 1950s halter top in crisp white cotton piqué fabric is the perfect piece to pair with your favorite summer skirts or shorts. The top has white shell buttons fastening in down the front, and at the back of the halter strap. Curved darts shape the fitted bust, ribcage, and just-above-the-waist-length hem. The center back section of the top is ruched with elastic stitching, for a more comfortable fit. This back section is unlined to allow it to stretch, but the rest of the top is lined with plain, lightweight white cotton. Several of the shell buttons are era-appropriate replacements—as close a match as I could find. The halter top is in excellent condition; the replacement buttons are the only issue to note. Check out the mildly risqué image on the label!
Although it is labeled as a vintage size medium(!), this 1950s halter top is quite small, so please check the measurements carefully, and feel free to contact me with any questions about fit.
Size: approx. modern XXS-XS.
- Bust: 26 inches flat and unstretched, up to 32 max with a bit of extra room in cups. Best fit for approx. 30B to C or 32A.
- Ribcage: 23 inches flat and unstretched, up to 28 max.
- Width at hem/slightly high waist: 21 inches flat and unstretched, up to 26 max.
- Length from back of neck strap to hem: 13-14 inches.
