Description

This novelty print cotton 1950s blouse or artist’s smock top features a design of townhouses and trees in shades of lavender and blue, with green, white and black accents. Narrow black piping accents the round collar and the openings of its 2 slit pockets. Black plastic buttons fasten the smock from neckline to hem. The lightweight, plain-weave cotton fabric is unlined. Several small pleats above the bust in front add fullness to the upper bodice.

The blouse shape is gently flared from bust to hem, and is intended for an overall loose fit. These comfy smock-style tops were often worn at home for doing chores, while relaxing and drinking coffee at your 1950s formica table, or for covering your clothing while painting or doing other crafts. They also make great maternity tops, with their loose and forgiving fit.

The blouse is in very good condition. The print is slightly faded from normal wear and laundering, but this 1950s smock top is sturdy and ready for many more years of wear with reasonable care.
