Description
This 1950s or early 1960s floral necklace and earrings set combines soft white plastic flowers with lilac and purple glass rhinestones. The necklace length is somewhat adjustable, using the hook clasp. The rhinestones are prong-set in lightweight gold-tone metal hardware, except for the stones at the center of each flower, which are glued in. The center section of the necklace and the clip-on earrings have the same construction: a larger purple center stone, surrounded by 4 flowers and smaller lilac rhinestones. The flexible plastic flowers are all riveted into the gold-tone metal: into the clip backs of the earrings and into the metal chain links of the necklace (see photos of back sides). The earring clip backs are still strong, and the set is in very good condition. Its only issue to note is some peeling to the tiny pearls on the hook and tail necklace clasp (see close-up photo). This summery 1950s white flowers and and purple rhinestones necklace set is sweet as can be!
