Description
An adorable yellow and black polka dot cotton full or bib apron from the late 1940s, this cutie is trimmed with white eyelet lace and black rickrack. The pullover style has a fixed (non-adjustable), extra wide neck strap and waist ties to adjust the fit. The U-shaped, single patch pocket echoes the rounded shape of the bib bodice. The skirt section is relatively full, with tiny gathers below the fitted waistband and a wide ruffled flounce at the hem.
The lightweight, plain-weave cotton 1940s apron is in excellent condition, with no issues to note. I estimate that it should fit a modern size extra-small to medium, with a maximum waist size of approximately 29 inches, allowing enough length in the waist ties to to tie in a bow.
