A fabulously asymmetrical 80s dress in lipstick red taffeta, this one-shoulder cocktail dress features a large rhinestone-trimmed bow and a dramatic ruffled shoulder strap, as well as a double ruffled peplum, all on its left side. The right side of the dress keeps things simpler, with a strapless bodice and a slightly pegged skirt (narrowed from hips to hem) below its fitted waist seam with center point and piping trim. Darts shape the hips and bodice boning helps keep the strapless side in place when worn. The bodice is lined with a second layer of red acetate taffeta fabric, while the skirt is unlined. The dress fastens in back with a nylon zipper. This fun 80s party dress was made by Contempo Casuals, a boutique brand originally known for catering to a young and hip clientele. It is in very good condition with 2 minor issues: a mend at the vertical hem slit in back, and faint stitch marks on the back of the shoulder strap, where it had been taken up by the previous owner (see photos).
