A circa 1930s-40s carved Bakelite link necklace and bracelet, this set has green and gold swirl Bakelite discs set in round, silver-tone metal links. The Bakelite discs are carved and pierced in a style meant to imitate jade. The discs are riveted to the metal backings, as well as having small prongs to hold them in place. Both pieces of the set fasten with fold-over hinged clasps. In very good condition, the set has only one issue to note: some tarnish to the backs of the silver-tone (not sterling) metal hardware. I have not attempted to polish this. Because the choker-length necklace and the bracelet are constructed in exactly the same way, you could use links from either piece to lengthen the other. This 1930s-1940s true vintage Bakelite necklace and bracelet set seems inspired by Asian (or Asian-style) jewelry with carved stones.
