This circa 1940s “stardust” Bakelite bangle has a subtle sparkle to its red-orange and black swirl, slightly translucent color combo, that I am calling lava red! The very large, chunky bangle is like a giant saucer bangle, with a beveled shape in profile. The sparkly inclusions that give stardust Bakelite its name are hard to see in all but the brightest light, but they are definitely there. This is seen best in photos 1,2, and 6.
The bangle has 3 chips on its inner side: 2 that measure about ¼ of an inch, and a 3rd that is tiny. They are less clearly visible when the bangle is worn, obviously, since they are on its inner surface, but they are noticeable. In good condition, the bangle is priced accordingly—a steal for such a fabulous color, larger-sized Bakelite bangle.
