This 1960s Hanes Wind Shield sweatshirt features the neon bright screen-printed logo of the iconic “Booby’s” restaurant, located in Niles Illinois. Booby’s was opened in 1961 by Ronald “Booby” Friedman and his wife Sally—and is still open today, 62 years later! (Check out the restaurant sign, in my last photo.) Possibly a uniform shirt from a former employee, this fun piece of true vintage workwear is off-white 100% cotton fleece, a substantial, classic heavyweight sweatshirt. Ribbed trim finishes the round neck, raglan sleeve cuffs and banded hem. The printed design is still quite vibrant. In very good condition, the sweatshirt has a few minor flaws from normal wear: a tiny brownish spot on the left sleeve, a very faint line of discoloration across the top of the shoulders from storage, and a small mend at the top of the left shoulder. This 1960s Hanes sweatshirt is freshly laundered, very sturdy, and has no other issues to note.
