Description
This black rayon velvet 1960s pillbox hat by Sally Victor is trimmed all over its tall “bubble” crown with black-painted, faceted metal studs. The rounded crown sits atop a fitted “band” without studded trim that should fit relatively tightly on the head when worn. In typical 1960s pillbox fashion, the hat is meant to be worn up high, towards the back of the head as shown—think Jackie Kennedy style. The hat’s crown is a bit taller in front than it is in back. A matching black velvet knot adds interest to the back of the hat. The hat is lined with stiff black nylon mesh, with an inner band of black grosgrain ribbon.
In excellent condition, this true vintage 60s pillbox hat has no flaws to note.
