Description

A deadstock, unworn 1960s party dress in floral metallic gold brocade and white chiffon, this classic cocktail dress has a fitted sleeveless bodice and semi-full, pleated skirt. Vertical bust darts shape the bodice, and a matching fabric belt with front bow cinches the waist seam. Both the bodice and skirt are lined in off-white taffeta. According to the original paper hangtag, the sheer chiffon (or georgette) is rayon. The taffeta ling also feels like rayon, and I suspect the metallic brocade bodice is a rayon and acetate blend. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. The belt snaps closed and can be adjusted slightly. Although early 1960s dress was never worn and is in excellent to mint condition with no issues to note, I have had it dry-cleaned for freshness, after its long storage.
