Description

The most darling deadstock dress and jacket set from the early 1960s, this cutie features an hourglass-fit dress in black with black white polka dots, and a matching cropped bolero jacket in the same polka-dotted fabric. The bodice is held up by narrow black straps attached to the pleated bust panel above the empire waist or underbust seam. Below this seam, the lower section of the dress is made of the plain black fabric with a bow trimming the center front. The waist and hips are shaped by vertical darts. A kick pleat at the back hem allows for greater ease of walking in the relatively narrow, pencil-style skirt. The dress fastens in back with a metal zipper. The jacket has a shawl collar, three-quarter-length dolman sleeves, and a single front hook to fasten it. Both the body of the jacket (not the sleeves) and the polka-dotted upper section of the dress are lined with white acetate taffeta. The slub textured, crisp and lightweight outer fabrics (both black and polka dot) are made of either acetate, or an acetate and rayon blend.

This true vintage, early 60s dress set can go from daytime wear to cocktail hour with ease! It is in excellent to mint condition, unworn, with no issues to note.

Ribcage/underbust seam: 29 inches flat, to fit up to 28.

Hips: 38.5 inches flat, to fit up to approx. 36.5 or 37, depending on your preferred snugness.
Length: 44 inches from shoulder to hem in front.
Underarm to underbust or high waist seam: 4 inches.
Straps length: 14 inches (easy to adjust with a bit of sewing skill)
Sweep/skirt width at hem: 41 inches flat.
