Description
These deadstock ladies’ 1960s shorts in bright lipstick red cotton have a high waist and mid-thigh-length, nearly straight legs. The flat front shorts have a metal zip fly and 2 buttons (one inside and one outside) at the narrow waistband. Darts at the hips help to create their curvy, hourglass fit. The color is a true red with a slightly warm tone, like a lovely, ripe tomato—yum! In excellent to mint condition, these mid-century 1960s shorts will soften up with future laundering, but currently, the unlined, mid-weight cotton fabric is still crisp with its original manufacturer’s fabric finish. My last photo shows the shorts unpinned from the mannequin, to give a better idea of size and shape.
Size: approx. modern S, with hourglass fit.
- Waist: 27.5 inches flat, to fit 26-27 max.
- Hips: 39 inches flat, to fit 36 a bit loosely, or 37 max.
- Outseam length: 17 inches from waist to hem.
- Inseam length: 6 inches.
- Rise: 14 inches in front and 16.5 in back.
