Description
An early 1960s evening gown in gold satin layered under black lace, this dress brings the drama! A large, vertical bow with extra-long ends trims the fitted waist. The fitted bodice features a deeply scooped neckline, wide straps, and bust darts for shaping. Narrow piping (also covered in lace—a nice detail!) trims the fitted waist seam. Below the waist, the dress has small pleats at front and back, to add fullness at the hips. The skirt section is slightly flared from hips to hem.
The mid-weight acetate satin fabric is overlaid with floral lace which I believe is also made of acetate. The gown in unlined, and fastens in back with a metal zipper. In excellent condition, freshly drycleaned and with no issues to note, this early 60s evening gown is a true vintage beauty!
