Description
This beautifully beaded and sequin trimmed 1960s mini pillbox hat is made of lustrous mocha satin, with a matching fine-gauge, dotted eye-length veil. The tall and rounded “bubble” crown of the hat is designed to sit up high up and back from the forehead, as shown—think Jackie Kennedy style. The satin fabric (a blend of acetate and rayon, I’d guess) is covered with copper glass seed beads and iridescent mauve sequins in a flower or pinwheel design, accented by a small velvet bow in mauve-mocha on top of the veiling. Mocha rayon velvet edges the head opening. The helmet-shaped crown of the hat is lined with stiff mesh and there are 2 small lucite combs attached inside, to help keep the hat in position when worn.
In excellent to mint condition, this copper-beaded 1960s cocktail hat appears unworn.
